On the 15th anniversary of September 11th, Fox 2 Detroit held a 30-minute television show with community leaders, including Dr. Ramsay F. Dass, President of American Middle East Christian Congress, to discuss 9/11 and its repercussion and effects on American Middle East Christians and Christianity in the Middle East.
Dr. Dass over-emphasized that the events on 9/11, along with the invasion of Iraq in 2003 followed by the Arab Spring, has damaged the infrastructure of the countries, with forced emigration and immigration of Christians from Iraq, Syria and other countries, while not forgetting the two-year occupation of the Christian neighborhood in the Nineveh Valley in Iraq that constituted a predominately and historically Christian neighborhood since the emergence of Christianity in Iraq.
Dr. Dass pointed out that the presence of Christians and Christianity in the Middle East, such as in Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and others, is a stabilizing factor and contributor to the political welfare and civil rights of those countries.
Dr. Dass also emphasized that in this election year, the Republican and Democratic candidates must do more and declare publicly their support of Christians and Christianity in the Middle East.
