Wisam, a young Chaldean-American, is a lawyer and community activist running for State Representative where he grew up, the 30th District. Wisam has fought for the community over the years by (1) helping found E’rootha, which mentored our children that immigrated here during the Iraq War and worked to preserve our culture, (2) working with the US Administration and Congress to fight ISIS in Iraq, and (3) helping lead the defense against the deportation of our community members this past year.
He is a Sterling Heights native and graduate of Wayne State University and the University of Michigan Law School. Wisam is running on a no-nonsense platform focused on combating corporate greed across Michigan and political corruption in Lansing.
The campaign is centered upon common sense policy initiatives ranging from government accountability and campaign finance reform to pharmaceutical price gouging and innovative infrastructure and education funding.
