Wisam, a young Chaldean-American, is a lawyer and community activist running for State Representative where he grew up, the 30th District. Wisam has fought for the community over the years by (1) helping found E’rootha, which mentored our children that immigrated here during the Iraq War and worked to preserve our culture, (2) working with the US Administration and Congress to fight ISIS in Iraq, and (3) helping lead the defense against the deportation of our community members this past year. Hello Fellow Chaldeans I was recently approached and asked for help with an ongoing issue in our community Some of you are still attending mass or services at PRINCE OF PEACE in West Bloomfield The person complained to me that on Ash Wednesday of last week the priest there verbally attacked Chaldeans again. Several letters have been sent to the Catholic Archdiocese I have personally spoken to Bishop Cepeda in the past with no results. IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST PLEASE CONTACT THE MICHIGAN CIVIL RIGHTS COMMISSION AND FILE A COMPLAINT.
